Buying a bike with skis isn’t a cheap proposition, but it is not impossible, either. Johan’s bike is an example of how you can take your adventure riding to a whole new level. Whether you prefer to ride on pavement or a snowy trail, a bike with skis will make your adventures that much more enjoyable. There are a few things to consider, though. Here are some things to consider before buying your bike.

    S.L.A.T. system

The S.L.A.T. system for bike with skis mimics the movement of a parallel skier on a parallel track. SNO-GO’s Chairlift Hook offers a resort-compliant system to pull ski bikes on chairlifts. This innovative product is available for rental in the US and for lessons and tours at local ski resorts. In addition, it offers a free online beginner’s guide, so that even beginners can learn more about the S.L.A.T. system.

In developing the S.L.A.T. system for bike with skis, SNO-GO partnered with an engineering firm in the U.S. to redesign the pivoting components. The new hexagonal shape of the components reduces material and weight by eight pounds. These improvements increase agility and reduce fatigue. And because the system is now lighter than before, SNO-GO has been able to lower the price of the bike.

    Husqvarna 256

If you’ve ever seen a James Bond movie, you’ll instantly remember the scene when Roger Moore is riding a Husqvarna 256 bike with ski straps. Bond is usually the one who wins the alpine chase. This Husqvarna, developed for the Swedish Defense Force in the 1960s, is no different. Johan Nordin, owner of Swedish-based 6/5/4 Motors, decided to customize the bike.

Six/5/4 Motors, a Swedish workshop, stripped down the 256 to its frame and fitted new headlights and taillights. They also installed new fenders and longer travel shocks. Finally, they painted the bike black to make it stand out from the crowd. The bike’s tank features a script that says “Thage” as a tribute to Johan’s father. And of course, the skis were the ultimate touch!

The owner of 6/5/4 Motors reconditions the 1968 Husqvarna 256 Thage, which was originally used by the Swedish defense force for snow patrol. He has named the bike after his father, the late Swedish Army Major Per Andersson. And the bike’s skis are a perfect accessory for the ice-cold winter! If you’re interested in owning a Husqvarna 256 bike with skis, consider making it your next project!

    Harley Davidson Roadster

A Harley Davidson Roadster with skis looks sporty and comfortable, but it’s not the kind of motorcycle you should take on the open road. The sportster S has a tuned engine for easy puttering. Unlike the standard Harley, it won’t snarl and has a smooth and predictable handling style. It also has an ABS system, making it an excellent choice for people who want to avoid accidents and get the most fun from their bike.

The Sportster S comes with a mighty two-inch of rear-wheel travel and forward controls. It also has an option for mid-controls, putting the rider in a sportier position for the track. You can also choose the softer-riding Sportster S if you want to avoid a crash. The Sportster S’s engine is capable of being tuned to make it handle more aggressively in different conditions.

    SNO-GO

If you are considering a snow vacation, you should try riding a Sno-Go bike. This revolutionary ski vehicle combines the motion of riding a bike with that of skiing. This fun and convenient winter sport is accessible to people who are unable to ski or snowboard. If you don’t have the money to buy a ski-bike, you can rent one or get a demo. You’ll be glad you did!

Featuring a patented S.L.A.T. system, the SNO-GO ski bike has a patented design that allows the rear skis to articulate, just like a parallel skier would. The bike is also very lightweight, combining all motor functions into one step. More than half of the ski resorts in the U.S. accept SNO-GO bikes, and they’re perfect for people of all experience levels.
